Bo Yang

I am a Ph.D. candidate in Strategic Management at the Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California. I am on the 2023-24 job market.

My research interests include corporate nonmarket strategy, global strategy, and innovation

My dissertation develops novel theories on corporate political strategy: (1) why some firms choose (in)visible political strategies in polarized partisan politics; (2) how firms combine domestic political strategies and global sourcing activities to manage political risks in their global supply chains; (3) how stakeholder activism affects corporate political responsibility (i.e., corporate political activities should be conducted in a socially responsible manner and aligned with democracy). My research contexts focus on contemporary salient events including the US-China trade war and the Capitol Riot.

My goal is to inform how businesses can do well by responding to and actively engaging with the ever-changing sociopolitical environment.
